The DCP-202 is ThermoSpot’s high-capacity model, similar -65°C to +175°C range as the DCP-201, but with 55W cooling at -55°C and 120W at -40°C for high-watt emitting devices where the DCP-201’s 40W capacity is not sufficient. The direct contact thermal cycling system for power semiconductors, RF power devices, and other high-dissipation ICs.

The DCP-202 shares the DCP-201’s direct contact architecture — ThermoBridge™ probe head, flexible umbilical, proprietary refrigeration without thermoelectric modules, 5.25″ touchscreen controller, and DUT-direct temperature control via thermocouple, diode, or RTD. The difference is cooling headroom.

At 120W cooling capacity at -40°C, the DCP-102 can overcome the self-heating of high-watt ICs that would overwhelm a 40W system, holding the junction temperature at the target setpoint even when the device is dissipating significant power during characterisation. 

Stability improves to ±0.3°C relative to the DCP-201’s ±0.4°C, reflecting the additional thermal control mass and headroom at the probe head.

Overview

The DCP-202 is built for high-watt ICs, 120W cooling at -40°C and 55W at -55°C, in the same ThermoSpot direct contact system architecture as the DCP-201. The choice when the device’s own dissipation would overwhelm a lower-capacity direct contact system.
