Our Story
Globetek started before it was called Globetek.
In 1975, our founder G. Venkatesh, an IISc alumnus, was running a small manufacturing plant in north-west Bengaluru, building temperature controllers for foundries and designing import substitution equipment for metro railways. He spent the next 17 years as a technical consultant, working on problems for large companies and research institutions across India: life-testing equipment for semiconductor devices used by defence laboratories, DC high voltage measurement systems for the Kolkata Metro, among others.
When India opened its markets in the early 90s, Globetek was ready. Two decades of understanding what Indian industry needed, and where global technology could fill that gap.
Today, Karthik, Venkatesh’s son, leads Globetek. He grew up watching his father come home from customer visits and talk about the problem, never the product. That’s still how the company operates.

Milestones that shaped us
1992
The Turning Point
US and Indian import bans had frozen our orders. When both eased, we honoured every order at its original price.

1993–94
Going Global
As reforms drew global chipmakers to India, we scouted instrument makers worldwide and signed our first agreement with HF-AG Switzerland.
"Globetek scouted for instrument manufacturers globally, expanding our product spread and customer base throughout the country."
1996
Representative and Distributor
We secured an import-export licence and became both representative and distributor. By 2000, rupee sales nearly matched direct imports.

2010
Next Generation
Karthik joined and brought the whole team under one roof, adding external training, internal auditors, and a CFO.
"Between 2010 and 2017, Karthik and I travelled extensively to meet our principals across the USA, Europe and Japan."
2012
Room to Grow
We moved into a new building that gave us four times the space, a dedicated lab, and parking for a team of 22.
"We were operating in three buildings nearby. It got difficult to manage."
2020–21
Sharpened Focus
We narrowed onto power electronics, semiconductor, RF, and microwave, and became a Private Limited company.
"We dove headfirst into sectors that powered deeptech."
